Built in the early 20th century and consisting of 200 residences, Charleston’s Hampton Park Terrace neighborhood is an excellent choice for families, young professionals and retirees seeking historic homes on larger lost that are still within close vicinity of most downtown attractions. The neighborhood abuts to the Citadel Military College and Hampton Park, and boundaries include Rutledge and Hagood Avenues and Moultrie and Congress Streets. Many of the homes in the Hampton Park Terrace community have been lovingly restored, while others are still in need of some TLC. Prices range from around $300,000 to just under $1 million. The numerous parks and athletic venues in the area are the biggest attraction, and access to Interstate 26 is just a mile from the neighborhood.
